SAMSUNG Teases FOLDABLE Smartphone Launch Next Year

Samsung is planning to launch a foldable smartphone later this year. CNBC reports that Samsung CEO DJ Koh hinted the device could be unveiled at Samsung’s developer conference in November. Samsung will launch a phone with a bendable display under the company’s Galaxy Note line. 

 Samsung released a concept ad for a potential foldable phone back in 2014. The ad featured a device with a bendable display that folded from a more tablet-like size into a pocketable phone. Samsung’s device may include a 7-inch single display, according to a report earlier this year.

Vikram lander located on Lunar surface, says ISRO chief

The Chandrayaan-2s Vikram module has been located on the Lunar surface and it must have been a hard-landing, ISRO chairman K Sivan said on Sunday, in an admission that the planned soft-landing wasn't successful. "Yes, we have located the lander on the Lunar surface. It must have been a hard-landing," Sivan said. Blockchain start-up hires Google’s messaging tech leader

Blockchain technology startup Ripple Labs Inc confirmed to Reuters on Friday that it hired Amir Sarhangi, who had been leading Google’s rollout of a new wireless messaging system, as vice president of products. San Francisco-based Ripple, which is among the most well known startups trying to capitalise on the technology that underpins cryptocurrencies, said it was excited to have Sarhangi leading its effort to develop a global payments network known as RippleNet. Alphabet Inc’s Google did not respond to a request to comment on whether it had filled Sarhangi’s role as head of RCS, or rich communications services. Sarhangi joined Google through its acquisition in 2015 of Jibe Mobile, a startup he founded and led that developed technology for wireless carriers to adopt RCS.
